Dear Parents and Guardians,

Welcome to a fun and active school year in Physical Education! I’m so excited to work with your child as we move, learn, and grow together through games, fitness, and teamwork.

Tennis Shoes = Safety + Success

One of the most important ways your child can be prepared for PE is by wearing appropriate tennis shoes every day. Proper footwear helps keep students safe and allows them to fully participate in all activities.

If a student does not bring or wear tennis shoes, they will be required to sit out for the day’s activity and will receive a 1-point deduction from their PE grade.

To make this easier, students may keep a pair of labeled tennis shoes on the shelf in the gym if they prefer not to carry them back and forth.

PE Expectations: Let’s PLAY!

In PE, we follow four simple rules to create a respectful, safe, and positive environment:

P – Place bottom on the bench

L – Listen when the teacher is speaking

A – Appropriate and safe use of equipment at all times

Y – Your attitude matters

We review these expectations regularly so all students feel supported and ready to succeed in class.

If your child breaks the rules, I will give them a warning. If I have to warn them a second time, they will then be sent to the Penalty Box where he/ she will have to sit out for an allotted time, then after their time is up, they will be able to return to the game etc. If your child’s behavior continues or if the behavior is severe this will result in a trip to the principal's office and a phone call home. For every time your child has to sit in the penalty box there is a -1 deduction from their PE grade, and a trip to the office will be a -3 deduction from their grade.
